Explain the end of the Pax Romana
The Pax Romana. A time of peace and prosperity. A time when the arts and sciences ruled, but it could not last. The emperors grew arrogant and corrupted. Greedy generals, in an attempt to seize power, launched civil wars. The citizens dissented, rioted, and revolted. The slaves rebelled. Plagues and famines occurred. Northern invaders tore the once mighty empire apart. Persia took advantage of the chaos and launched their own invasions against Rome. The Roman economy crashed. The military system collapsed. Eventually, the last Roman emperor surrendered to a barbarian king. Rome was no more.
Describe the causes of the Fall of Rome (Discuss 4-5 reasons)
Diocletian
Who is he? What did he accomplish?
Diocletian was the man that split Rome in two, the west, and the east since their where barbarians invading west part Rome Diocletian ruled the east since it didn’t have as many barbarians or problems. He was one of many emperors that hated Christianity and christens and had them attacked by lions in the coliseum.
Constantine
Who is he? What did he accomplish?
